Xbox not having Helldivers 2 doesn't help anyone in Phil Spencer's view

 


After last Thursday's Xbox announcements (16), Phil Spencer also commented on Helldivers 2 and the title's exclusivity for PS5 and PC.

In an interview with Game File, Phil Spencer commented on Helldivers 2 and, pointedly, stated that "he doesn't know who it helps in the industry if the game isn't on Xbox."

"I understand. There is a tradition in the console games market that we benefit in some way by not having the game come out on other devices," he added.


Despite the comment, Phil Spencer also spoke about exclusivity during the official Xbox podcast and, according to him, "exclusives will be a considerably smaller part of the market in the next 5 or 10 years."

PS2 sold 160 million units

 The PlayStation 2 is to date Sony's biggest success and the best-selling console of all time. In the last official update we had from the company, it was stated that the hardware had passed the 155 million units sold mark. Embracer sold Gearbox for $460 million to Take-Two

  After a failed $2 billion negotiation, Embracer Group has been slowly closing or selling its studios. After selling Saber Interactive for $247 million, now it's Gearbox Entertainment's turn. The studio known for the Borderlands franchise was officially separated from Embracer and sold for $460 million to Take-Two, which previously served as the publisher of the Borderlands IP.
