Marvel's Spider-Man 2 ending was almost completely different

 


Marvel's Spider-Man 2, the latest release from Insomniac, almost had a completely different ending. See how the change impacted the fates of the characters.

According to files published during the wave of leaks at Insomniac, a supposed draft of the story appeared on Reddit and, if the ending of the story followed as written in it, everything would be very different.

Beware of spoilers for the story of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 from here onwards.


In the official ending, Peter Parker, Miles Morales and MJ fight Venom in a flashy and cinematic battle that, in the end, has Peter destroying the Symbiote and, consequently, leaving Harry Osborn, its host, in a coma due to his illnesses.


However, in the text that was leaked on Reddit, the proposal was to have Peter Parker actually kill Harry Osborn, an even more impactful turn for the hero, who would even receive money from his friend as an inheritance to start his foundation.


In any case, the outcome would remain similar, with Norman Osborn looking for Otto Octavios and, possibly, beginning his path to becoming the iconic villain Green Goblin.

PS2 sold 160 million units

 The PlayStation 2 is to date Sony's biggest success and the best-selling console of all time. Embracer sold Gearbox for $460 million to Take-Two

  After a failed $2 billion negotiation, Embracer Group has been slowly closing or selling its studios. After selling Saber Interactive for $247 million, now it's Gearbox Entertainment's turn.
