EA fires 5% of employees and cancels new IPs


 EA announced the layoff of 5% of its employees, equivalent to around 670 people, and also the cancellation of new IPs that were under development.

In a publication on the official website, a letter was made available, in which the company justifies the changes by stating that "it is moving away from the development of future IPs that would not be successful in the industry".

With this, EA also closes offices responsible for some games such as MLB Tap Sports and F1 Mobile Racing. The supposed Mandalorian game was not mentioned.


Still on future IPs, according to GamesIndustry.biz, the Black Panther and Iron Man games already confirmed by EA are still in development.

PS2 sold 160 million units

 The PlayStation 2 is to date Sony's biggest success and the best-selling console of all time. In the last official update we had from the company, it was stated that the hardware had passed the 155 million units sold mark. Embracer sold Gearbox for $460 million to Take-Two

  After a failed $2 billion negotiation, Embracer Group has been slowly closing or selling its studios. After selling Saber Interactive for $247 million, now it's Gearbox Entertainment's turn. The studio known for the Borderlands franchise was officially separated from Embracer and sold for $460 million to Take-Two, which previously served as the publisher of the Borderlands IP.
