7 tips for conquering Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is among us, continuing the adventure of Final Fantasy VII Remake with Cloud and co. in search of Sephiroth.
Now, the game leaves the city of Midgar and presents a huge world, with several areas to explore and dozens of parallel activities and minigames. With so much to do, it's natural to get lost and miss some secrets and tips that can help your experience with the game.
As this game is a continuation of Final Fantasy VII Remake, all the tips from our previous game guide are still valid, especially when it comes to combat, the use of Materials and weapon proficiency.
Check out, below, seven essential tips for conquering Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
Look for your Chocobo
The open areas of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are huge and have many inaccessible places… unless you have your chocobo. The game highlights the importance of capturing one in the Prairie area (Grasslands, in English), including this activity in the main mission, but in other areas of the game, this is not the case. Therefore, always try to capture the chocobo in each area as soon as it is unlocked, to make your movement easier. It is worth remembering that, in each area, chocobos have different abilities, such as climbing mountains or using special platforms. Therefore, when you have this mount, you also gain access to parts that cannot be explored on foot.
Do the sidequests…
Every new area also has a series of parallel activities to do, but the most important are the sidequests, marked with a green pentagon on the map, or checking the notice board in each city, with jobs available for mercenaries. In addition to a good amount of experience, they also always place Cloud alongside a member of the team, which increases his affinity with that person. This is the fastest way to improve your Team Level, which brings several benefits in combat.
…But don’t worry too much about them
If you want to prioritize the main story or another type of exploration in the world, rest assured: movement between areas in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is much freer than in the original game, allowing you to move between maps with relative ease until the final moments of the game. This way, you can always accumulate some sidequests and leave them for another point in your journey.
Prioritize Synergy Attacks
All characters have Folios, maps similar to the Sphere Grid from Final Fantasy X where they can unlock some point improvements on the attribute sheet and special abilities. However, the most important things in these Folios are the Synergy Attacks, special actions with the power of a Limit Break that can be used in pairs during combat. Prioritize unlocking these skills when evolving your character's Folio, which can be done in the Maghnata Bookstores or in machines spread across open areas and dungeons.
Did anyone look for you in the world? Go after
When you're exploring one of Rebirth's scenarios, someone will probably draw your attention to a point on the map, be it a baby chocobo or a red bird. When this happens, go after it: generally, they will indicate a point of interest on the map that can be completed quickly and, when you do so, that point becomes a fast travel location, making your journey through the worlds even easier. about the game.
Always change your team members
One of the biggest new features of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth compared to its predecessor is the opportunity to choose your battle team from the beginning of the game. Always try to change your team members, especially since some have a set of skills that are more effective against certain types of monsters — it's much easier to hit a flying monster with Barret than with Cloud or Tifa, for example. One way to facilitate this exchange is to configure different teams in the Menu under Combat Settings. You can define up to three different teams and swap them with X + L1/R1 as you walk around the map.
Save frequently
Like all high-budget games today, FFVII Rebirth has autosave, but it's not always reliable. If you lose a battle at an advanced point in part of the main story, it is very common for the game to push you back to a checkpoint that was reached minutes (or hours) earlier. This can be remedied if you have your own manual save file. So save often.
